architecture surrounds us everywhere we go: the mall, the supermarket, our schools, our homes, the buildings where we work, even the movie theaters. but all of that is too modern, too simplistic and too cookie-cutter. gone are the days of real industrial, functional and roman-esque architecture. that is why i find such fascination with architecture in decay. the city which i now call home is filled with such monuments to the industrial revolution and spelunking the caverns of these rotting hulks often reveal a natural beauty which has long been lost in our modern lives.
